2024 Mercedes GLC Coupe Debuting Mid March

Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for the launch of the next-generation GLC Coupe, set to debut in mid-March. The new model promises to be longer and sleeker than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase and a larger cabin for increased passenger comfort. The automaker also boasts an enhanced cargo capacity, particularly for the plug-in hybrid versions, which will offer up to 1,200 liters of space after the rear seats are dropped.

In addition to a more spacious interior, the 2024 Mercedes GLC Coupe will feature a flat underbody and sleeker side mirror caps, which will reduce the drag coefficient from 0.30 to 0.29. Mercedes-Benz has also introduced a bitumen-based material to the transmission tunnel, which should help reduce cabin noise. Other optional features include air suspension and an off-road package with a 360-degree camera, including a Transparent Hood function that provides footage from underneath the front of the vehicle.

The new GLC Coupe will be available with mild-hybrid gasoline and diesel engines, as well as three plug-in hybrid versions with a 24.8-kWh battery pack. Two of the plug-in hybrids will be gasoline-powered, while the third will be a diesel-electric hybrid, dubbed the GLC300de Coupe. All three models will feature 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engines and support a maximum charging power of 60 kW, which will take less than 20 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent.

All configurations of the 2024 Mercedes GLC Coupe will come equipped with 4Matic all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Expect the AMG 43 and 63 models to follow soon after, offering 402 and 671 horsepower, respectively. The flagship model will be a plug-in hybrid, boasting a massive 752 pound-feet of torque. Mercedes-Benz hopes that the new GLC Coupe will build on the success of its predecessor, which has sold over two million units worldwide since its launch in 2015.
